Privacy Policy
Effective 21 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-21.1Who is responsible
NearSoul is operated by Himalaya Industries. Contact support@nearsoul.in for privacy questions, correction, access, erasure, withdrawal of consent or a grievance. NearSoul is for adults aged 18 and over.
Data we use
We process account identifiers, email, phone verification information, user ID, age, gender, profile text and photos; location when permission is granted; messages, calls and interaction records; group activity, blocks, reports and support messages; purchase receipts and entitlements; device identifiers, push tokens, diagnostic and security events. Microphone, camera and media access are used for features you choose. Google sign-in provides the account information shown on its consent screen.
Purposes and choices
We use this data to authenticate you, provide nearby discovery and communication, deliver purchases and notifications, investigate abuse, answer requests, maintain security and meet legal obligations. Account consent does not grant optional device permissions or advertising consent. You can withdraw optional permissions in device settings and request withdrawal of account consent through support or account deletion; affected features may stop working. Earlier lawful processing is not invalidated.
Location privacy
With permission, NearSoul processes device coordinates to calculate nearby results. Show approximate distance controls the distance displayed on your profile. Hiding that display does not erase previously collected location or guarantee that your location cannot be inferred. Sharing a location in a chat or group deliberately reveals it to recipients. You can turn off precise-location sharing features in Settings and revoke device location permission to stop further device location collection.
Who receives data
Members receive profile information and content you share according to the available visibility controls. Recipients may save or redistribute information. Authorized personnel and service providers may process data for support, safety, hosting, communication and billing. Providers supply cloud infrastructure, app-store payment processing and mobile advertising services. Data may be processed outside your country subject to applicable safeguards. We may disclose information when legally required, to address safety or fraud, or in a lawful business transfer.
Advertising and diagnostics
Ads and diagnostics may process device identifiers, IP-derived region, app interactions and crash information. NearSoul does not add your chats, profile details or precise location to its ad requests. Where available, use Settings > Ad privacy choices to revisit advertising consent. We do not sell precise location.
Retention and deletion
Visible content follows the lifetime shown in the app; an expiry label is not a promise of immediate erasure from every system. Mutually retained chats, reports and safety evidence can have different lifetimes. Account deletion requests have a two-day (48-hour) cancellation window from submission. After that, pending requests are escalated for administrator review and deletion, subject to ownership checks and required retention. Relevant records may be retained for legal duties, payment disputes, fraud prevention or active safety matters; backup copies may persist through their retention cycle. Support can explain the reason for a hold and the status of a request. Copies kept independently by other members are outside our control.
Your requests and security
Use Settings > Safety & Legal > Download/Delete Account to request deletion. Account downloads are coming soon; for data access or correction, email support@nearsoul.in without reinstalling the app. We may verify account ownership, and protect other people's data when responding. Contact the Grievance Officer if dissatisfied. Statutory access, correction, erasure, grievance and nomination rights apply to the extent applicable and in force. We use access controls and security measures, but cannot promise absolute security. Incidents are handled and notified as required by applicable law.
Updates
The version and date identify this notice. Material account-policy changes require a new in-app acknowledgement. Optional permissions remain separate. You can read these policies without signing in.
